Guess who pee-peed on the potty today for the first time....at least since she's been with us.


It was kind of a "lucky accident" and may not be duplicated any time in the very near future, but anyway. It kinda went down like this: On our way back from our lake weekend (more on that in a later post) she had a complete blow-out, I mean it was halfway up her back and her carseat had to be cleaned. I brought her inside to clean her up in the bathroom and while she was standing there naked she peed a little and a bit ran down her leg. She said "uh oh" and managed to stop herself. I grabbed her up immediately put her on her potty and told her to go ahead and pee-pee on the potty. She fussed a bit and acted like she wasn't sure if it was okay but after a bit of encouragement, and maybe the simple fact that she couldn't hold it any longer, she went in the potty. I immediately showed her what she had done and made a big deal of it . There was clapping and congratulations and hugs galore. Four hours later if you mention that she peed on the potty she smiles and claps. She really is understanding so much of what we say to her. She's been saying "uh oh" when she soils or wets her diaper for a while now which is why we went ahead and bought this potty chair for her a couple of weeks ago. This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago when we were just kind of introducing her to it. Notice she's sitting in it backwards.


Another milestone for Kerry Lu is the fact that she is now eating dinner without the tray on her high chair. We bought this Sp&ce Saver high chair for it's easy transitioning to a booster type seat. We knew she wouldn't need a "high chair" for more than a few months. It's working great so far. It pulls up nice and tight to the table without leaving gaps on the side and there's a peice between the legs that keeps her from sliding out that way.

You'll also notice that she now does a very good job of occasionally feeding her self.
