What she's been up to.

My girl is a very busy lil' munchkin with energy to spare. We figured out early on that if she doesn't have a regular and easily accesible outlet for her energy, she starts to get restless and grumpy. This is why we take our daily walks. Sometimes twice daily, in fact. And she has a mini-trampoline in her basement play space that she goes crazy on regularly. It's great for the winter months and on rainy days. But when the weather is nice, you'll find us outdoors. Recently we went to one of our favorite places, Bernheim Forest, to let her run loose for a few hours.

She talked with the ducks and swans a bit..

had some fun with these great natural building blocks in the play area of the visitor's center..

These photos were taken seven months ago at the same table. See how much she's grown ?!

There's still lots of time decicated to blowing bubbles...

She took some time out, one day, to organize these soda bottles. She's still really into collecting objects of similar size, shape, function, whatever..in handy containers.

She's helped feed our fish every afternoon...

and even stopped to contemplate life by the pond.

She's still obsessed with the "fwabbers" that we consider weeds. Somedays her pigtails take on a life of their own....this was one of those days =).

And this one....this one I don't really have an explanation for. It's just cute.

Have I mentioned lately how much I adore this girl-o-mine? Even on her orneriest day she makes me smile, and I can't resist showering her with hugs and kisses at least a dozen times a day. She is our joy-baby, our blessing, and sometimes it's hard to remember what life was like before she came along.

She's had some leaps in developement lately, too. It's as if the moment she turned two, someone flipped on another switch in her brain and suddenly she can consistently identify 7 colors (red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, pink) and she's learned to recognize the letters T, K, E, O, H, and W, or "dubbee!", as she say's it. And this week she's finally started trying to put together 2-3 word sentences. Since this blog will serve as a scrapbook for her, I thought I'd better document these things.

She had just learned to blow bubbles on her own when I took this photo. *sigh*. Slow down baby girl, you're growing up too fast.

The adorable lil' sweetheart in this photo with Kerry is Hannah. I've posted about her before as she just stole my heart and seemed to be such buddies with Kerry.

When we were traveling to Florida last month, we had to opportunity to meet and spend some time with her Mama and Daddy in Georgia over dinner. They are such wonderful people and Kerry was really taken with them. As we were leaving, she even ran back to give Lois extra hugs. She never does this for someone she's just met. Lois and David are waiting on TA so they can finally get their sweet Hannah. I know how hard it is to be so close and waiting on one of the last things that stands between you and your child. Please pray with them that that much needed TA comes very soon.

Sunday Sweetness

She's taken to picking stray dandelions on our walks, lately. She calls them "fwabbuhs" (flowers)

I love this little dress on her, it's from the new Liberty of London line at T*rget
I love this photo, but I would have loved it even more if I could have gotten her to look at the camera, but she was too busy watching "Max and R*by".

Bracelets are supposed to be worn on your wrists, sweetie =).

How is it that the same child who will not knowingly allow so much as a solitary green bean to pass her lips (I 've resorted to disguising veggies in other foods), will eat almost half of my spinach and feta cheese salad. Maybe it's the Italian dressing it's tossed in, or the bacon bits, or the cheese, I don't know but she's had it twice and liked it. I guess if she has to willingly eat just one veggie, spinach would be at the top of my list so I plan on keeping it handy. This is the girl who would happily live on a diet of any sort of meat, pasta, pringles, butterscotch pudding, and any sort of cheese...even pepper jack (she loves spicy foods) . Of course, now that I've posted this, she'll probably refuse to eat it the next time I make it.

(you'll notice that is not spinach..I was too stunned that she was scarfing it down to take photos)

Kerry's first Easter

We couldn't have had any prettier weather for Kerry's first Easter.

Her basket from Mama and Daddy. She got a total of four baskets between us, grandparents, and Aunts and Uncles.

Here you can see some of the eggs she decorated.

After church it was time for another egg hunt and dinner with family

I couldn't resist getting her these teeny little gold cross earrings to wear on her first Easter.

Happy Easter!

He is not here. He is risen, just as he said..Matthew 28:6

We kicked-off Ker-Bear's first Easter celebration today. We started with the annual egg hunt at church this morning. It was rainy so they pretty much just gave the eggs to the kids.

Afterwards we went home to continue the festivies.

"hmmm...which egg should I dye first?"

"ah-ha...that one!"

I stuck her in an old paint splattered t-shirt of mine for the dirty work.

Then we made lemon cupcakes and Kerry decorated them, thoroughly, with sprinkles.

And of course, she had to eat one.

After her nap, it was time for a real egg hunt...in the back yard. She caught on quick and in no time she'd found every last one of them.

She's a collector by nature, this girl, so she was in her element. In fact, she carried her basket of new found treasure around most of the afternoon..including on our now daily walk to Feeder's S*pply to visit her new finch friends.

Tomorrow we're going to Cousin Sydnie's for lunch and another egg hunt. I think she's ready, now.

She cracks herself up, sometimes.

I mean, really cracks herself up.

I find her kinda hilarious,too...and adorable. Even after she goes digging through Mama's purse and finds Mama's lipstick. Looks like she's got kind of a heavy hand when it comes to applying make-up.

My photo
I've been happily married to my wonderful husband for 15 years. Two year ago we were blessed to welcome our first child, a Daughter from China and are absolutely in love with her.
