We visited with Doug's cousin, Kim, and Aunt Mary Ann who is in from Arizona yesterday evening.

Kerry got to play with sweet little Destiny

Kerry loves dogs and is not a bit intimidated by the big ones.

They have the sweetest, most gentle natured dogs so we weren't worried then Kerry got up close and personal with them.

My baby girl turned 18 months old today. Somehow the battery charger for my camera has come up missing so I can't take any pictures...but here are a few from the past week.

We went downtown to apply for her social security card last week and stopped off at Molly Malones, a local Irish pub, for lunch. Kerry is the newest fan of their Potato Leek soup and Shepherds Pie.

Making a mess with Spaghetti later in the week

And getting cleaned up afterwards.

Happy 1 1/2 sweet girl..

Horsies, Doggies and Pig-tails

We spent Saturday hanging out with Mamaw and Papaw. First we drove down to Glendale for a little shopping and lunch.

Then we went back ot Mamaw and Papaws house and met the horses in the field next to their house.

On Sunday we visited Cousin Sydnie, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Travis. Sydnie loves getting to be a "big cousin" and, as usual, was so sweet with Kerry.

just look at those smiles..

She drove her around in her Escalade..

and let Kerry have fun with her toys.

Charlie was always close by, keeping an eye on her

wether she wanted him to or not.

We also managed to get Miss K's hair into two little pig-tails for the first time. Her hair has grown about an inch since we got her. In her first referral photos, you can tell the her hair had been shaved and was was super short around the ears, so as its grown it seems to be forming a baby mullet (you can kinda see it in the pictures above). I'm debating wether to trim up the neck-line sometime in the near future to let the rest of her hair catch up, or just wait and see if the mullet effect gets less as it grows. I'm open for advice.

Have I mentioned that I'm crazy about this child? She amazes and delights me every single day. What's new in Kerry's world? She's learned another new word...cracker ( she says "cah-kuh") I think she's grown at least an inch since we got her but hasn't really gained any weight. She's much more mobile these day's so I guess she's running it off. I can tell her hair has grown quite a bit also. She has a new fascination throwing things in the kitchen trash can...most recently the TV remote and Winnie the Pooh. She is also fascinated with flushing the toilet and locked herself in the bathroom tonight. Thankfully I was able to unlock it with a credit card.

Here's an updated list of her likes and dislikes.

Likes: Music, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, apple-banana juice, baths, playing with toys that make sounds or music, playing with Mama and Daddy, hugs, tickles, chasing Salem, the theme song from "Ni Hao Kai-Lan", doing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"with Mama, going to any store where she's allowed to walk/run up and down the aisles, imitating anything that we're doing.

Dislikes: having to go to sleep, Mama leaving for work, diaper changes, getting her face cleaned, waiting, getting her teeth brushed, not getting something she wants (but shouldn't have), fruit that isn't banana's, fruit juice that isn't apple-banana.

I haven't had much time for posting lately (did I mention that I went back to work full time last week?). My mom watches Kerry here at home which is such a blessing but I hate leaving her in the morning and I miss her so much through the day, and I miss the weeks that I was able to do nothing but just soak in this new daughter of mine, play with her, watch her learn new things seemingly by the hour, and hug her and hold her anytime I wanted . The plan was to go back to work part-time, and that still may happen but not for several weeks. While I was on leave, a couple of people quit and will have to be replaced and trained before I can cut back my hours. I hope this happens sooner than later. I missed the first 15 months of her life and I'd hate to miss anymore of it than I have to. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the last week before I went back to work.

Enjoying a trip the to Zoo (we're getting a lot of use out of our Zoo pass)

She spotted a giraffe (no pun intended).

First Carousel ride

Boogie-ing down to some live Jazz that we happened upon after dinner that evening

Enjoying a pop-sicle

Wow, that's cold!

We finally got to meet up with the georgeous Miss Makenna and her Mama, Dana, at the Zoo today. Makenna just came home in May and is only a few weeks older than Kerry, and they're from the same province. I had a great time talking with Dana and I look forward to getting our girls together again, soon

These two spicy Jianxi girls are alot alike.

Double the cuteness

Her big brother Jackson is such a sweetheart.

They had fun splashing around the water-ball

I've been happily married to my wonderful husband for 15 years. Two year ago we were blessed to welcome our first child, a Daughter from China and are absolutely in love with her.
