We've been logged-in with the CCAA and waiting for our daughter for 12 Months today! I can't believe how the last year has flown. Doug and I went to P. F. Chang's to celebrate the anniversary (yummy). I really hope the rest of our wait goes by as fast.

Have I mentioned how much I've enjoyed having Jessica around?. Reason #1: We've known each other for over 20 years so she's kinda like the sister my mom didn't give birth to. Reason #2: Her little boy, Jamey . Reason # 3: She cooks....really well...which means I don't have come home from work and worry about making dinner half as much as I used to. We kinda take turns, but she ends up making dinner at least 4 nights out of the week, and sometimes we cook together. That pretty much rocks =). She's been in Florida for the past several years so to be able to just hang out and catch up has been nice, too. They've made an offer on a nearby house that they really like so they will be moving out in a few weeks, but I have to say I've enjoyed their stay....and the homemade dumplings =).
Mixing the dough
Rolling it out
Cutting out the dumplings
She's gonna get me for this one. See the flour all over her face? =)
We had a houseful of dinner guests and the dumplings were gone before I could get a picture of the finished product.

Jess, Jimmy and I took Jamey out to my Mom's house on Saturday. He got to feed and pet the horse across the road. They weren't too sure of each other at first...
But curiosity soon got the better of at least one of them
He climbed his first tree , with a bit of help =)
(looks proud doesn't he)
My dad, Jimmy and the Yorkies conked out after a while. My mom's house has always been very condusive to a good nap.
Then on Sunday, what was left of Ike collided with a cold front right over us resulting in 70 mph wind gusts. It's kind of wierd to have a Cat 1 in Louisville =/. My house didn't sustain any real damage but some of my neighbors, unfortunately, weren't so lucky.

Labor Day Weekend fun
Everyone gathered at my In-laws place at the Lake for the holiday. We ate... ALOT. We went for a ride on the pontoon. We swam. Jamey and my niece are only 2 months apart in age so they got to meet and play together a bit. Jamey absolutely loved riding the boat, and Sydnie, at two, is already like a little fish in the water.
